The UAE announces permit for paid paternity leave in the private sector.

The permit has been approved by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. Hence, the required modifications have been made to the Federal Law on Regulation of Labour Relations following the announcement of this permit.

The newly employed law will allow male recruits in the private sector to obtain paid leave for five working days in the first six months of their child’s birth.

This law makes UAE the first Arab country to approve paternity leave and will endorse gender equality and family solidity. Furthermore, it will attract fresh talent to the private sector and fortify UAE’s leadership.
